Program/Project Managment
Given any project, I can work with the team(s) and make the project succeed. After a lifetime of bringing projects to life, this is second nature. A bredth of experience

I have I have worked as a Business Operations Manager, Program Manager, Project Manager, Programer, and System Admin. I've done QA, Tech Writing, Customer Support, and database work. I've worked at large companies like HP as well as small startups.

Some tech highlights and tidbits

• My friends created the open source movement: I am friends with people who created MySQL, Apache, Perl and many other Open Source technologies that are the foundation of the internet. I have worked at the OSCON Open Source conventions (as well as many other Open Source tech conventions) most years since 2000. I have often worked for or with O’Reilly Press and with the Open Source folks at Microsoft.
• 12 great years at SGI: I worked at Silicon Graphics (SGI) for 12 incredible years as a Project Manager, Software Engineer, Technical Lead, System Administrator, QA project lead, and more.
  Created Key-O-Matic, a customer facing web Perl program, when the web was still in its infancy. It was the worlds first automated license generation web tool. The program saved the company from hiring several additional employees and vastly increased customer satisfaction. Some of the internal ads we made for Key-O-Matic were fun. This programming effort was a massive success.
• Helped make Jurassic Park at ILM: Software Engineer and System Administrator at Industrial Light and Magic (ILM) during the time that we created the revolutionary effects for the movies Jurassic Park and Schindler's List, among others. Ran 100+ SGI and Sun machines. Wrote their backup system and tools for checking the health of all of the machines.
• Attended Rochester Institute of Technology: RIT is one of the best best computer science colleges and also one of the best photography colleges. I was the first person there to have a computer major and photography minor.

About Julian

I embody momentum and make positive changes happen quickly. I work hard and I love making things better. Figuring out the best ways to crack a given nut for the best possible results makes me happy. I am a combination of "people person" who also happens to have fun obsessing on low-level technical implementation.

I enjoy the process of planning and leading a team to build an engineering project. Agile is a wonderful way to work. And for projects where it's needed, I creatie easily understood Gantt charts. I like writing documentation and specifications. I find writing code and testing fully addictive. QA is vital in any company and it's something I've enjoyed spearheading. It makes me happy to help my coworkers and the clients.

At entrepreneur meetings, I've regularly asked for advice on business approaches, on the ideal technology to use, PR, funding, and a wide variety of challenges that startups face. I have notable experience with almost every skill needed to create a startup.
